Health Walk
Healthy Living Wessex is delighted to be able to offer a health walk programme specially created for people who want to improve their health and fitness but have been inactive for some time.
The walks are ideal for you if you have at least one of the following: diabetes, heart conditions, high blood pressure, breathing problems such as COPD, or are overweight.
Details about the walks
A two mile walk around Weymouth, led by a Physical Activity Referral Specialist.
Come and join us on Wednesdays at 2.15pm from the Bridges Surgery in Commercial Road. You are most welcome to join us for a well-deserved cuppa in a local café after the walk. The cost is just £1 which goes towards funding future activity classes.
Please Note:
If you have any sort of long term medical condition, you will need to get a signed "physical activity referral form" from your GP and take it along with you to your first walk. If you have had a cardiac event of any sort, such as a heart attack or angioplasty etc. you will instead need a "CHD physical activity referral form". You can print off the copy below and take it to your GP or your GP will have a copy.
PLEASE TURN UP 10 MINS EARLY FOR YOUR FIRST WALK TO TALK TO YOUR INSTRUCTOR ABOUT YOUR HEALTH AND PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR REFERRAL FORM FROM YOUR DOCTOR.
